How to Build Product Pages

Can't Write Amazon Product Descriptions?
The Proven Template, Plus AI in 10 Minutes

"I know how to list a product. But the moment I try to write the description, I freeze." That's not a talent problem — you just haven't seen the template yet.

When you add a product to Amazon, the listing process itself is manageable if you follow Seller Central's prompts. Where most people actually get stuck is the next part: the product description and the bullet points. Leaving them blank won't sell, but staring at the field with no idea what to write is just as bad. This article is for anyone stuck at exactly that point.

Here's the short version: descriptions that sell follow a fixed writing order. Fill in the template in sequence and you'll produce a solid page even if writing isn't your strength. At the end, we'll show you how to hand that template to AI and get it done in 10 minutes.

Why the description decides your sales

Online, your customer can't pick the product up. They can't feel the texture or judge the size — they decide entirely from your words and images. In other words, the description is your in-store sales pitch. When it's weak, even shoppers who find your listing won't move to buy.

On top of that, Amazon's search reads the words in your description and bullets. If the terms a shopper would type aren't in your copy, your listing won't even surface. Your description carries both jobs at once — getting found and getting bought.

The template for descriptions that sell

You don't need to overthink it. Write in this order and the information lines up exactly the way a buyer wants to read it.

1What the product is, in one line
e.g. One real cup in 30 seconds, even on a rushed morning — drip coffee made with just water.
2The problem it solves
e.g. No boiling water, no equipment to clean up afterward.
3Concrete specs (material, size, quantity)
e.g. 20 sachets per box. 100% dark-roast beans. About 12g per sachet.
4Where they'll use it
e.g. At your office desk, while camping, or in a hotel on a business trip.
5Reassurance (guarantee, track record)
e.g. Sealed packaging keeps the flavor fresh for about two weeks after opening.

Bullet points work the same way. The basics: fill all five lines, one feature per line, ordered by what the buyer most wants to know. Empty lines read as "not enough information" — a wasted opportunity.

How to use search keywords

A common myth says "cramming the keyword in over and over makes you rank better." It does the opposite. Repeating the same term unnaturally makes the copy hard to read and pushes your conversion rate down.

The right approach is simple: work the terms a shopper would actually search into your title and bullets once or twice, naturally. For coffee, that might be "drip coffee," "single-serve," or "just add water" — the words real buyers type. It's about picking the right terms, not hitting a count.

Common mistakes

  • Stopping at two or three bullet points (looks like missing information)
  • Listing only specs and jargon, so no one can picture using it
  • Stuffing the same keyword until the copy reads unnaturally
  • Copying a competitor's page so your own product's strengths disappear

You've got the template. But writing one every time is exhausting

If you've read this far thinking "I get the template, but writing each one by hand takes forever when I have a lot of products" — you're right. The more SKUs you add, the more this copywriting becomes the biggest bottleneck.

That's where AI helps. Enter the basics — product name, material, size, features — and it drafts the title, bullets, and description in line with the template above. You just fix the product-specific facts yourself. The 30 minutes of writing from scratch shrinks to 10.

Just enter your product details. Leave the writing to AI.

Frequently asked questions

How long should an Amazon product description be?
Fill all five bullet points and aim for a few hundred words, covering use case, material, size, and what the product does for the buyer. Specificity matters more than word count.
How many times should I include a search keyword?
There's no target number. Work it into the title and bullets naturally once or twice. Stuffing backfires.
Is it okay to write product descriptions with AI?
Yes. Let AI build the draft, then correct the product-specific facts yourself. That's the efficient approach.
